ABA Treatment Funded by Insurance
As the field of applied behavior analysis is evolving, Behavioral Learning Center, Inc. prides itself on staying ahead of the curve and delivering the most advanced technologies while keeping up with the trajectory of developments. As the treatment of autism, and like disabilities, has become internationally recognized and empirically proven to be applied behavior analysis (ABA), medical insurance companies are taking the lead in endowing behavioral treatment for the individuals we serve.
Senator Steinberg authorized SB-946 in 2011, thus requiring that that private health care plans and insurance companies provide for the estimated nearly 1 in every 50 children currently diagnosed with autism and like disabilities. Currently, Behavioral Learning Center, Inc. is contracted with and/or accepts single case agreements with Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Magellan, Cigna, United Medical Resources, Aetna, United Behavioral Health, Optum, Managed Health Networks, The Holman Group, and Kaiser, in addition to varied self-funded plans.
As recent legislature is moving to provide life-altering treatment for the current estimate of 75,000 diagnosed children in California that are of low-income status, as well as those that are not or are under-insured, Medi-Cal is projected to begin allocating funds towards ensuring this population have equal opportunity to receive applied behavior analysis services. As more information becomes available from the California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) and Managed Care Medi-Cal and its effect on treatment of autism as it pertains to the individuals we serve, information will be provided on our website as we receive it.
